lYour training gi is included in the course fee. You'll wear it from session one — so it needs to be sorted before you arrive on the first night.
Two options:
Fit on lesson 1 night — arrive at 6:45pm (15 minutes before the 7pm start). André will have gis available and can fit you before the session begins. The adults class finishing at 7pm will be wrapping up — just wait in the viewing area and André will come to you.
Visit the dojo beforehand — you're welcome to come in during any regular class time to get fitted at your own pace. While you're there, you're welcome to stay and watch the class — a good way to see what training actually looks like before lesson 1. You won't participate, just observe.
Let Andre know you're coming so he's expecting you.
Mon-Wed 5pm-7pm. Saturday 9-11am
Gi sizes run in sizes from 1-7 so let Andre know your size ( S, M, L, XL) and height so he can match it up,
Arrive: 6:45pm for a 7pm start..

Andre will explain what the four weeks covers and what's expected of you — briefly, without over-explaining.
Then you move.
Kamae first — how to stand.
Then irimi, how to enter.
Then a middle punch, how to deliver one safely and how to receive one.
By the end of the first hour you'll have done your first jujutsu technique against a genuine attack, and taken your first sideways breakfall.
You'll leave having done something, not just watched something.
Lesson 1 — Position and movement
Kamae, two body movements, first technique, first breakfall. Both roles — tori and uke — train simultaneously from the start.
Lesson 2 — Balance before technique
The principle beneath lesson 1 named and deepened. First joint lock. First pain compliance — introduced with a clear training agreement before it happens.
Lesson 3 — Adaptability under pressure
A new body movement — nagashi (flowing). The attack is now to the face. The same technique arrives from a different road.
Lesson 4 — Reading, responding, integration
Everything tested together. Reflex training — an attack you don't know is coming. The course ends with something on your belt that wasn't there when you started.
Regular classes during the course — First Principles runs as its own self-contained group. Andre may extend an invitation to attend a regular class during the four weeks based on what he sees — but that's his call, not an open offer.
The final lesson closes with a clear picture of what comes next — regular classes, the grading pathway, and a continuation offer if you want to keep going. There's no obligation. You'll know what feels right once you've done it.
Please Use the entrance shown below.
The door is not obvious from Hutton street, so this photo will help you find it easily when you arrive.
Free parking is outside, note, there is a one-way system in place when driving in and leaving.

Which ever way you enter from, it's one way from there onwards.
